Interview with Horia Neaga

Heartfelt commitment and unwavering loyalty

Yasmine : Hello Horia, thank you for agreeing to this interview! I'm delighted that we can talk today about your career path and your role at DAWCO.

Horia : Thank you, it's a pleasure to share my experience!

Yasmine : How long have you been part of the DAWCO family?

Horia : I joined in 2006, first as a seasonal employee at Systemex Communication. Then, thanks to my colleague Pierre Cameron, a warehouse clerk, I joined the team on a permanent basis in 2008. Since then, I've never left DAWCO!

Yasmine : 18 years is impressive, Horia! What made you want to stay so long?

Horia : The atmosphere, the stability and above all the human relations. Here, you feel respected and listened to. I've always worked well with my colleagues and superiors, including the Tousignant family. That's what motivates me every day.

Yasmine : How would you describe your role and main responsibilities?

Horia : I'm in charge of receiving and shipping materials, whether from our suppliers or from our worksites. I also keep track of equipment and tools using the Hilti OnTrack application. Everything that goes in or out of our warehouse has to be accounted for on Hilti. Every day, I make sure that the worksites have everything they need.

Yasmine : An essential role in the smooth running of operations! What's a typical day like for you, Horia?

Horia : There's no real routine, everything can change from one moment to the next! Every morning, I start by checking requisitions and organizing deliveries. Then there are always unforeseen events: electricians who need tools urgently, deliveries that arrive... You have to be ready and reactive!

Yasmine : And how do you deal with the unexpected?

Horia : With patience and concentration! In times of “rush”, as they say, Stéphane Lemaire, the warehouse supervisor, steps in to set priorities. For my part, I keep calm at all times and make sure that everything is done safely.

Yasmine : It's clear that safety is a real priority for you.

Horia : Yes, indeed, I've been an occupational first-aider for several years, and I renew my certificate every three years by taking the training again. In fact, I've just done it. I always make sure the warehouse is safe. Accidents can happen if you're not careful.

Yasmine : That's quite a commitment! Well done Horia. What do you enjoy most about your job?

Horia : The contact with my colleagues. I like helping out, finding solutions and feeling that my work makes a difference.

Yasmine : Is there anything you're most proud of since joining DAWCO?

Horia : Yes, I've built up a relationship of trust with my team and my superiors. We all work together, and that's what makes us strong.

Yasmine : DAWCO is a big part of your life. What motivates you to give your best every day?

Horia : Recognition. When a colleague says “thank you” or leaves satisfied, it makes me want to keep doing my job well.

Yasmine : And outside work, how do you keep a good balance with your personal life?

Horia : When I go home, I completely switch off. I have a passion that helps me clear myHoria1-1mind : music! I've been playing the accordion for 40 years. I used to be part of an orchestra that took part in competitions, and most of

the time we won first place. Today, I play it mostly on weekends, just for fun. Maybe one day I'll play for my colleagues.

Yasmine : That's great Wow, you've been hiding this talent from us. We'll organize it together, Horia! Finally, if you had to sum up your DAWCO experience in one word, what would it be?

Horia : Patriotic. I've always put my heart into my work, with loyalty and respect. For me, DAWCO is much more than a company, it's a family.

Yasmine : A fine career and a fine personality, Horia! Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience with us. We wish you all the best for the future at DAWCO!
