Modernization of the Main Electrical Substation

Deschambault, (Quebec, Canada)
Integrated work: Construction

DAWCO was mandated to modernize the electrical substation at the Deschambault aluminum smelter. The scope of work consisted of unloading and installing all associated high-voltage equipment in accordance with ABB's manufacturer and engineering drawings.

Main equipment included:

  • 315 kV – 69 kV circuit breaker
  • 315-69 kV current transformer
  • 315 kV disconnectors
  • Rigid and flexible busbars
  • 315-69 kV gantry
  • New harmonic filter bank and all related equipment

 

The work also included the installation of a new concrete slab on the existing section.
