Members of our management team, as well as our workers (electricians and others), also hold the requisite confidentiality and security code certifications.
Significant achievements :
Over the years, DAWCO has contributed to several major naval and defence projects, demonstrating our ability to deliver innovative and effective solutions. Some of our major projects includes :
- The electrical and mechanical refit of the Terra Nova FRSO, for which our 40-strong team travelled to Ferrol, Spain, to carry out the pre-operational check mandated by Suncor.
- The DAWCO team was mandated by Davie Shipyard to support them in the maintenance of frigates for the Canadian Navy. This project spanned 10 years. Our team of experts consisted of pipefitters, riggers, electricians, instrumentation technicians, and planners.
- Our participation in the transformation of the Resolve transport vessel into the MV Asterix, a crucial project for strengthening the Canadian Navy’s logistics and supply capabilities. Our mandate involved major electrical, instrumentation and control work.
- We were mandated by Techsol Marine to perform electrical and instrumentation and control work on various vessels, including icebreakers such as CCGS Jean Goodwill, CCGS Captain Molly Kool, and CCGS Vincent Massey.
- Our involvement with the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) on an electrical substation upgrade project at the Port of Montreal. We also carried out a mandate to install the electrical system for the new parking lot at Alexandra Pier, as well as a procurement project to provide clean, sustainable energy for port operations.
- Our involvement in the modernization of the Irving Shipyard, helping to boost operational efficiency and ship production capacity.
- Our participation in the electrical rebuilding of the National Defence Engineering Test Establishment (Sea) (CETM) plant in LaSalle, where our team carried out electrical work to LEED Silver standards.
- DAWCO was mandated to perform electrical, instrumentation and control work on a new maximum security unit for the federal penitentiary in Renous,
New-Brunswick.
